But that's not an excuse for the mouse controls being so lame. "Jump" and "attack" should be different buttons instead, the controls are copy+pasted directly from the iOS port, which means there's no such thing as right/left clicking. "Click and drag away from Twinsen to jump, drag beyond the maximum jump distance to attack" is unsatisfying, unintuitive and messy. The remaster also screws up the difficulty in various ways. Yeah, the old controls are dated and hard to get used to, but the game had an intended sense of progression. In the original DOS version, the first two guards are hard to run past LET ALONE kill - that was the game's way of telling you "avoid conflict, do the dump truck puzzle instead!" You're meant to feel weak before you get the magic ball. But in the remaster, your default attack is more than enough.Īll that said, if you do have a good controller it's probably fine.
